The Cult

My latest poem duet ( my 1st) was dedicated to 3 different individuals between 2 writers for a total of over 30 years between us. Not individually dedicated to any 1 person. Just 30 plus years experience of abuse received from these years of persons not named. Paranoid abusers and their flying monkeys please stay away. U would never understand and it would ” never be ur fault”. Just blame us and throw us under the bus as usual. U would never want anyone to know the truth about u. Paranoid much ?

Ur words made me believe

I thought u were my one and only

Ur words made me believe

In U, in love, in us

Ur words took me into another world

Into a future, that wasnt fantasy

Where we would be 2gether 4ever

U made me believe in ur words

I trusted U, I believed in U

I was happy, I gave U my heart

I gave U all I had to give

I dreamed of our future

And held onto ur words like a lifeline

But, too soon I found ur words were not true

Just distorted reflections of U in a circus mirror

U weren’t who U said U were

U used ur words to deceive me

How could U do that to me?

U disappeared like a thief in the night

Leaving me with nothing more than heartache and pain

And moments and memories spinning around in my head

Like old time records

But….time has done its healing

And my heart has already mended

And locked those memories away

Deep in my heart never to be remembered again

I guard my heart closer now

After letting go and moving on

I watch for those who use words

That r untrue
